COLLIERS International has boosted its Victoria retail leasing team with two new appointments.
Bernard Canning has been appointed to the role of manager – project leasing.
Colliers` director of retail leasing in Victoria Ben Tremellen said Canning’s focus would be suburban shopping centre projects and managements.
“We have had a strong focus on building this part of our business, developing a specialisation in project leasing. To date, there has been a gap in the market which we since have addressed and filled. Colliers International now has approximate 53% market share in the project leasing space,” Tremellen said.
“Bernie joins us from the Coles Property Development team where he was the regional leasing manager for more than four years. In that time, he managed the Coles Victorian portfolio of retail projects and helped maximise the assets’ rental income and occupancy.
“Bernie also spent three years with COMAC Property Group as their leasing manager and was responsible for overall leasing strategies and income budgets to optimise tenancy mix,” he added.
Meanwhile Colliers recently appointed Cam Taranto to the position of senior executive, focussing on the CBD market.
“With more than five years’ experience in commercial real estate working with CBRE and CVA and a background in marketing, advertising and business management, Cam has established a reputation as a creative and innovative operator.
“We are excited to have Bernie and Cam on board as part of our growing Victorian retail leasing team,” Tremellen said.
