WALKER Corporation has started work on the $150 million twin tower Westmark Milton development in Brisbane, after notching up 95% in apartment sales.
Construction of tower one began just four months ago and only 14 one bedroom apartments remain out of the total 277.
Walker Corp’s Queensland general manager Pete Saba said the demand has been extraordinary with the majority of buyers being young professionals, international students and first homebuyers.
“The plan was to initially focus on the sales and construction of tower 1. However, following great traction and quicker than anticipated sales, construction of both two towers has commenced ahead of schedule” he added.
The development is scheduled for completion early in 2016.
Walker purchased the 3,500 sqm site at 80 McLachlan Street, Fortitude Valley, from listed car group AP Eagers for $22.5 million. It is proposed that the site will offer a mix of residential, commercial, retail and lifestyle elements.
