THE Municipal Group of Valuers, the largest discussion group of the Australian Property Institute, has awarded Kerryn Ball of Opteon Property Group as the 2014 Emerging Leader.
The MGV represents the interests of the statutory valuations area of the valuation profession.
MGV Chairman Graham Brewer said the award was created to encourage younger members coming through the valuation profession.
The prize consists of a $6,000 bursary, including $3,000 from Thomson Reuters, to be dedicated to the cost of travel, accommodation and attendance at an international conference and such overseas research as the project requires.
Ball will present her research at the MGV’s conference in 2015.
Her report will look at whether universities and higher education providers are equipping graduates with the right qualification and skills to work in the profession.
