SUNLAND has appointed former Watpac chairman Chris Freeman as an independent non-executive director, effective from 12 January 2015.
Prior to his appointment, Freeman was chairman at Watpac Limited, following more than 10 years as CEO at Mirvac Queensland (1998-2008).
Freeman was previously a non-executive director at Sunland from 1997 to 1998.
He sits on several boards, including Brisbane Airport Corporation, Chair of the Queensland Performing Arts Trust, and Member of the Federal Government’s Major Performing Arts Panel.
He is also Vice-President, Tennis Australia Ltd, Member of the Brisbane City Council Urban Futures Board and Chair of Urban Renewal Brisbane.
Freeman is a past President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia and remains a life member.
Sunland managing director Sahba Abedian said Freeman’s return to the Group will further enhance the diversity and expertise of the Board as Sunland delivers its $4 billion national development pipeline.
