THE Urban Taskforce has elected former managing director and chairman of Stockland, Peter Daly as the organisation's new chair.
Urban Taskforce CEO Chris Johnson said Daly has a wealth of experience including 10 years running Stockland from 1990 and then as chairman for a further five years.
“Peter was unanimously elected as the new chair at the recent Urban Taskforce Australia’s Annual General Meeting. Two deputy chairs were elected Peter Spira of Meriton and Alan Linz of Rebel Property Group; David Tanevski, managing director of KWC Capital Partners was elected as the Secretary Treasurer,” he added.
Daly said he is honoured to be elected.
“I have observed the excellent contribution the Urban Taskforce has been making to debate on the planning and growth of Australian cities with many positive proposals.
“It is important that industry groups contribute ideas as well as critique the planning and procurement processes their members operate within. I look forward to a stimulating time ahead,” he added.
Johnson acknowledged the contribution of outgoing chair Noel Hemmings QC.
“Noel has been a steadying hand for the Urban Taskforce over the last five years particularly through the transition to the new government in NSW. His wise counsel will be missed,” Johnson said.
