WALKER Corporation’s $400 million Vicinity Industrial Base in Adelaide’s north has received a major boost from the South Australian government.
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) approved a new route for the road train and performance based standard (PBS) scheme level 3a at the estate.
The 100ha Vicinity Industrial Base is Adelaide’s largest and newest master planned industrial estate located 10km north of the city.
CBRE’s associate director Jon Nitschke said the decision by the department will be a major boost for the estate, as it will mean better access for heavy vehicles, in addition to the lots being affordable with sensible road layouts.
“Major transport groups Cahill Transport and Toll NQX will especially appreciate the determination, while others will appreciate Vicinity’s value to re-locate their transport depot and warehouse sites, with a large format service station to be opened by the end of 2014,” he added.
