CHARTER Hall has made a recruitment coup with the appointment of Greg Chubb in the newly created role of head of retail property services.
Chubb has over 25 years’ experience and was most recently the property director for supermarket giant Coles, where he oversaw the restructure of the business, closing some 100 underperforming centres and spending over $3 billion to build 100 new stores and refurbished a further 350 stores.
Prior to this, he was managing director Greater China of Sandalwood. Chubb has also held various senior positions with other property groups.
Chubb will be responsible for the Charter Hall’s retail property services and management of its 80 shopping centre retail property portfolio. He will also join Charter Hall’s executive leadership group and report to David Southon, joint managing director.
Southon said Chubb will be a valuable addition to the group’s management team.
“His appointment aligns with the organisational structure refinements implemented earlier this year and further strengthens the senior leadership, capability and capacity necessary to sustain the continued growth of the group’s property portfolio.
“Greg’s significant retail operational experience and deep understanding of retail property will be of great benefit to Charter Hall’s retail fund managers, to our tenants and to our retail investors,” Southon said.
