GLOBAL real estate advisory company, GVA Worldwide has entered Australasia, by forming GVA Franklin Shanks based in Sydney.
The agency will be led by two partners, Mike Franklin and James Shanks, who have 50 years of combined experience both in the Asia Pacific and UK markets.
Based in Sydney’s Governor Phillip Tower, Franklin and Shanks have held senior positions at CBRE, DTZ and Knight Frank, before launching their own respective firms, which then led to their recent partnering. Past and present global clients include Nestle, Sony, SAP, Google, Viacom, BMW, RBS, General Motors, Barclays Bank, Nomura, KKR, Moelis & Company and Standard Chartered.
“Recognising the importance of our global clients’ links in to EMEA, Asia and the Americas we were particularly keen to partner with a global group that has a strong professional track record and a comprehensive office and professional staff coverage. The Partnership of GVA Worldwide and Cassidy Turley provides this opportunity allowing us to bring a new, wider, dimension to our client services,” Franklin said.
GVA chairman and chief executive Rob Bould said Australasia is a key region that will play an integral part both in the future growth of GVA Worldwide and as a stand-alone global market.
“Already the UK’s largest independent commercial property advisor we are looking to compete on a truly global level, and I have no doubt both Mike and James are best placed to assist us in fulfilling our medium and long term aspirations in this vital market region,” Bould said.
This latest affiliation comes hot on the heels of GVA Worldwide’s most recently established partnering with Asia Pacific Properties (APP) in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
