LEWIS Land and Mirvac have sold the remaining properties on Ephraim Island on the Gold Coast, more than a decade after the release.
Since 2003, 383 apartments have sold at Ephraim Island across the Marina, Inlet, Promontory, Broadwater and Reserve precincts, for in excess of $350 million.
More than 500 residents now call Ephraim Island home, which also features a 115 berth marina.
Lewis Land, developer of the neighbouring Sovereign Islands, acquired the 9.619 hectare site in the middle of The Broadwater, 400 metres off Paradise Point, in 1995 and joined forces with Mirvac in 2001 in a joint venture to develop Ephraim Island.
Mirvac CEO residential John Carfi said the development could not be replicated on the Gold Coast.
“There simply isn’t the opportunity to create another island community like this on the Gold Coast and the feedback we continue to receive from those who now live on the island has been fantastic,” he added.
Ephraim Island has won a string of awards since its launch, including twice being named Residential Lifestyle Development of the Year by the Housing Industry Association (HIA). It has also been recognised by Master Builders and the Australian Institute of Architects.
