INTERCONTINENTAL Hotel Group has posted a RevPAR growth of 3.3% in the third quarter buoyed by the Australasia, Americas and Asia, Middle East & Africa regions.
In Australasia, RevPAR was up 3.9% with solid trading in Australia. The group also received a boost with the signing of a new hotel in Sydney, the Holiday Inn Express, taking its total number of hotels in Australia to 30.
IHG has opened 8,000 rooms opened taking its total rooms to 679,000 rooms as at 30 September, up 1% year on year.
In the third quarter it also signed 16,000 rooms, up 18% year on year, taking the pipeline to 180K rooms at the quarter end.
