HIGHLY respected former Australian Property Institute national president Clyde Eastaugh has been appointed interim national director of the API.
Eastaugh comes to the role following the resignation of former national director David Haythorn, who recently decided to pursue other business interests.
Eastaugh, one of Australia’s most experienced property professionals, has not only dedicated his life to property but also to the Australian Property Institute where he has held the roles of National Councillor, National President and is a Life Fellow.
Eastaugh, along with National Council, will lead the Australia-wide recruitment search for a permanent national director.
“At this point in time it is important to assist the national council and the state divisions in working through the issues facing the API as a leading National organisation in the property sector,” Eastaugh said.
“The API has been on a rapid growth path in recent years and has matured into an integral National voice in one of Australia’s most important financial sectors what needs to happen now is for the National office to work with state divisions and members.
“In my role as interim national director, I intend to pull the Institute together, so we once again speak with one voice to our members, stakeholders and the media,” he added.
Eastaugh’s appointment is effective immediately and he has begun bedding down the national office and liaising with national council and state divisions.
API national senior vice president Robert Hecek said Eastaugh’s appointment was an important step in ensuring the API once again speaks with one voice and works with all members across Australia.
“National council’s aim is for the national office to be managed in a manner that will uphold the standards of the API and its members thus creating a platform for the future national director to build upon. Clyde’s appointment as interim national director is vital in this process,” Hecek concluded.
