SAVILLS has bolstered its hotel division with the appointment of Louise Tabone as associate director in the New South Wales office.
Tabone has been with Colonial First State for approximately eight years within the Commonwealth Property Hotel Fund, owner of the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Gold Coast Marriott Hotels.
Savills Australia and New Zealand CEO Paul McLean said building a hotels division within Savills Asia Pacific has been part of the strategic growth plan for some time.
“Since the appointment of Michael Simpson as managing director – Savills Hotels Australia and NZ, earlier this year, there has been substantial traction in this market.
“Australian hotels continue to attract the interest of international investors, particularly from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China, and I see this as a very exciting time for the hotel industry,” McLean said.
Simpson said Tabone’s wealth of experience in hotel funds management, transactions and hotel valuations, will be of enormous benefit to the hotels team.
