LAW FIRM Allens has bolstered its real estate practise with the appointment of Alister Fitzgerald to the partnership.
Fitzgerald, who is based in the firm’s Brisbane office, began working at Allens in 2010, following a career in a top tier real estate practice in Brisbane and Sydney, and then in-house in Australia and Hong Kong, and finally as general counsel of a listed property trust in New Zealand.
Fitzgerald has been involved in a wide range of transactions since joining Allens, with recent career highlights including advising Woolworths Limited on the real estate aspects of the establishment of the $1.5 billion Shopping Centres Australasia Property Group; and advising the Government Investment Corporation (GIC) of Singapore on the sale of 215 Adelaide St Brisbane for $135 million.
He also recently advised GPT Group on the sale of a 50% interest in two regional shopping centres in the Northern Territory and Australian Capital Territory for $550 million; and on several anchor tenant leasing transactions at One One One Eagle St in Brisbane.
Fitzgerald is one of seven appointments to partnership as of 1 July. These promotions follow the recent appointment of partners Tracey Greenaway in Perth and Kate Axup in Beijing.
Allens chairman Ian Wallace said this latest group of new partners will play a crucial role in the firm’s future.
