COLLIERS International has been appointed the manager of the 50 Cavill Avenue and Seabank office buildings on the Gold Coast.
CBRE will continue to handle all leasing activity whilst Colliers will be responsible for building management.
The properties are under the control of Deloitte’s John Greig and Richard Hughes, who were appointed as receivers over a number of entities in the Chung Group of companies on 10 September last year.
Deloitte restructuring services partner John Greig said the ultimate goal was to see both Seabank and 50 Cavill Avenue regain their iconic status as the premier commercial buildings on the Gold Coast.
“We believe there are national and international entities that will consider these two locations as viable for their operations, and we believe that having Colliers International managing the properties will help drive interest and deliver that outcome,” he added.
Colliers national director Simon Cox said this appointment would have to be one of the largest agency property management appointments on the Coast in recent years.
CBRE’s Gold Coast managing director Tania Moore is in charge of leasing in the two buildings. She said significant interest has been received from prospective tenants and negotiations are currently in progress on a number of new leases, which are expected to be announced shortly.
50 Cavill Avenue was completed in 1991 and is the Gold Coast’s largest office tower. It comprises a total net lettable area of approximately 16,600 sqm over 21 levels. Seabank was completed in 1987 and comprises a total net lettable area of approximately 8,500 sqm over 11 levels.
