LISTED childcare centre owner and operator G8 Education Limited has notched up a net profit after tax of $19.21 million for the 2012 financial year, up 11% from the previous year.
The underlying net profit after tax surged 42% from $13.90 million to $19.73 million. The result was backed by a 26% increase in revenue to $179.99 million.
Chairperson Jenny Hutson said in 2012, G8 Education purchased 33 centres and sold one, which has led to a net increase in licensed places of 2,935 per day, an increase of 28% from 2011.
“Throughout 2012, G8 Education has participated in the Federal Government’s Assessment and Rating program. This has further reinforced that we are achieving outcomes for children through high-quality educational programs.
“G8 Education’s continued earnings per share growth in what remains a challenging environment demonstrates the operational excellence of the G8 Education team,” she added.
