AUSTRALAND has been awarded a 5 Star Green Star – Industrial Pilot Certified Rating for its Staples (formerly Corporate Express) distribution centre development in Erskine Park Sydney.
Located in Erskine Park Business Hub in western Sydney, the centre comprises 43,085 sqm of office and warehouse space and occupies a 83,940 sqm site.
The project, completed in late 2008, was one of the first distribution centres in the Australia to incorporate a co-generation system.
“ESD is entrenched as an important component of the value proposition in our industrial business and the sustainability solutions implemented in the distribution centre will equate to significant cost reductions over the long term,” Australand’s sustainability manager – commercial & industrial Paolo Bevilacqua said.
