ONE of Queensland’s leading valuers and Knight Frank Valuations QLD managing director Philip Willington has announced his retirement.
Willington said the time is right to look for new challenges after almost 41 years in the profession and over 25 years as a valuation director or managing director including 21 years at Jones Lang Wootton (now Jones Lang LaSalle) and almost 20 years at Knight Frank Valuations QLD.
In an address to colleagues, Willington said “41 years has come and gone very quickly and the changes in the property industry and profession have been monumental during this period.
“Some of the changes have been so fundamental that it seems to have been the equivalent of a career change without actually changing jobs. The property industry has certainly been fluid, dynamic and exciting over this period with challenges and rewards that have made it a great field to work in,”
Willington will continue as President of the Queensland Division of the Australian Property Institute until his term ends in March 2013.
He said he intends to take a short break before deciding what direction to take next.
Meanwhile Gordon Price will take over the role of Knight Frank Valuations QLD managing director.
Price is the head of Knight Frank’s national health and aged care business and is a respected expert in the aged care and retirement property sectors.
