KNIGHT Frank has bolstered its offering in Mackay by opening a valuations practise and appointing Petra Graham to lead the business.
Graham said the agency was already firmly established in Mackay with Bill Doughty and his team performing so well in commercial sales and leasing.
Graham completed her schooling at Whitsunday Anglican School before studying a Bachelor of Business Management with a Major in Real Estate and Development at University of Queensland. Her formative years in the valuation industry were spent with a major valuation firm on the Sunshine Coast, valuing residential and non-residential properties, before returning to Mackay in late 2009.
Knight Frank Townsville director of research and valuation Craig Stack said the group was delighted with the appointment.
“Petra was actually recommended to us by clients when we first embarked on establishing a valuation practise in Mackay,” he added.
Graham said the market is performing reasonably well in Mackay though demand has weakened in several of the mining towns in the Bowen Basin.
“I anticipate that prices for residential property in the region will stabilise over the next year. While export pricing for Coal has reduced, the development of Port Infrastructure and the continuing operation of an expanded Coal Industry will provide employment opportunities.
“It would be beneficial to our residential market overall if the rate of owner occupancy increased slightly for new dwellings. Owning a home tends to tie people to a region and over the past few years we have learned how hard it is to attract skilled people for increasingly specialised workforces,” she continued.
Knight Frank Valuations is sub leasing space from Brazier Motti at 72 Victoria St.
