QIC Global Real Estate's $400 million redevelopment of Robina Town Centre has won the Renovation and Expansion Gold Design Award in the Design and Development category at the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) Asia Pacific Shopping Centre Awards in Shanghai, China.
The Design and Development category recognises retail properties for their overall design qualities and creativity in development, through renovation or expansion of an existing property or in innovative design of a new retail project. Countries across the Asia Pacific region are eligible to enter.
“To win the Renovation and Expansion Gold Design Award in the Design and Development category is outstanding international recognition for Robina Town Centre. It was a strongly contested category, with Robina Town Centre competing with high calibre entries from countries throughout the region,” QIC GRE managing director Steven Leigh said.
This is the second time a QIC GRE development has received the prestigious ICSC award. In 2004, it won the International Design and Development Award for its Canberra Centre redevelopment.
Leigh said Robina Town Centre also won the Silver Maxi Award in the Sales Promotion and Events marketing category for its Virtual Change Room campaign.
Robina Town Centre boasts more than 350 speciality retailers, including the Gold Coast’s only David Jones and Apple Retail Store, as well as Myer, Big W, Target, Kmart, Coles, two Woolworths, the Promenade Lakeside Dining Precinct and Event Cinemas together with Queensland’s first shopping centre car park facilities featuring the revolutionary ‘Park Assist’ technology.
