LEND Lease has won a $315 million contract to design and construct a major upgrade to Sydney’s M5 South West Motorway for Interlink Roads.
Abigroup, part of Lend Lease’s construction business in Australia, will undertake the design and construction of the project.
Abigroup has been working with Interlink Roads since February 2010 on the M5 West Widening Project through an Early Contractor Involvement contract. Completion of the project is expected in December 2014.
The M5 West Widening Project includes widening the existing M5 South West Motorway from two to three lanes in each direction from Camden Valley Way, Prestons to King Georges Road, Beverly Hills.
Lend Lease CEO Steve McCann said the company through Abigroup, has a strong track record of delivering road projects in the Sydney area including the Westlink M7 and Hills M2 Motorways and this latest award confirms the experience and track record of the business in the road sector.
