CBRE has appointed Savills NSW managing director Michael Andrews as a senior director of international investments.
Andrews has over 18 years of property experience and was head of Savills’ national capital transactions team and the Australian representative on Savills’ regional and global investment teams in addition to his roles as MD of the company’s NSW and ACT businesses.
CBRE president & CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Tom Southern said Andrews had a successful track record across all aspects of the commercial property market and strong relationships with local and offshore investors.
“Having executives of Michael’s calibre and experience join our business is very exciting and is vital for us as we look to identify and work with international investors and facilitate the continued flow of cross border capital,” he added.
CBRE senior managing director, institutional investments, Rick Butler said the appointment would augment the company’s already dominant international investments team, while strengthening CBRE’s institutional investments’ business.
“Foreign investors have purchased over $5 billion worth of Australian real estate assets in the past 24 months, either directly or through joint venture vehicles with local investors,” Butler said. “Michael has strong relationships with offshore buyers, particularly in Asia, which will be invaluable in driving the continued success of our International Investments business.”
