RECEIVERS and mangers McGrath Nicol have been appointed to Canberra's $100 million Direct Factory Outlet and Homemaker Hub centre at Fyshwick.
Partner Shane O’Keeffe said it may take up to six months but he is confident they will find a buyer for the asset, which was handed over to the firm after Austexx was unable to repay the loan.
”I would like to assure tenants, customers and centre management employees that our appointment allows the DFO Canberra and Homemaker Hub complex to continue to operate while a full and thorough assessment of DFO Canberra is completed and while we run an orderly sale campaign.
“We’ll run a very orderly campaign, it’s not a quick fire sale of the premises,” he told the media.
Completed in September 2008, the two level centre comprises 120,000 sqm of retail space as well as car parking facilities for more than 2,000 cars.
