COLLIERS International has announced that Jim Shonk will retire from the agency after 23 years as a stalwart of the ACT real estate profession.
Colliers state chief executive Paul Powderly said during his time with the agency, Shonk made a total of 500 property transactions with a value of over $3 billion.
“He will be missed by us all not only because of this amazing record, but the great friendship and support he has given to everyone within the organisation,” he added.
“It is time for a changing of the guard. Colliers International has many exceptionally talented young staff in the ACT and I look forward to watching them continue to grow the business and support the local community in the future,” Shonk said.
“I think 2012 will be a busy and productive year for the Canberra real estate market with many exciting new projects due to come on line. While I am sad I won’t get to be part of that, I am excited about the next stage of my life which will include spending more time with my family and travelling,” he concluded.
