FORMER general manager of Building Management Australia (BMA), David Haythorn was yesterday appointed Chief Executive of the National division of the Australian Property Institute.
Haythorn joins the API from BMA, a on-site building management and facilities management for the residential and commercial strata industry.
API national president Philip Western said Haythorn brings to the API a wealth of knowledge and experience in the property industry.
Previously, Haythorn was general manager of operations for five years at Raine & Horne. Haythorn was responsible for some significant enhancements to the Raine & Horne brand during that period and had overall day to day responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the Real Estate Franchise Network, with nearly 600 franchises across Australia and overseas. He is also the founding partner and shareholder in Australian Real Estate Finance Group.
“David’s diverse property industry experience, expertise, skills and qualifications place him in good stead to lead the API into the future and ensure that the API continues to be Australia’s leading membership organisation of choice for all property professionals,” Western concluded.
Haythorn commences his role with the Canberra National office of the API early December.
