COLLIERS International has appointed former New Zealand cricket captain and all-rounder Chris Cairns to the residential team in Canberra.
He joins a team of 17 residential property professionals headed by state chief executive Paul Powderly.
Cairns recently moved to Canberra with his family after the birth of his daughter Isabel. Isabel was born with profound hearing loss and will be a recipient of a bi-lateral cochlear implant in September 2011.
“Our move to Canberra was somewhat unexpected but we are committed to giving Isabel every opportunity in life. Australia is the best place for us to be with Isabel’s condition.
“The opportunity arose for me to secure a position with Colliers International and I am delighted to be involved with such a great company. Throughout my sporting and post sporting careers I have had an association with people and I feel within this industry it is a transfer of these skills that will equip me well,” Cairns said.
