THE Myer Melbourne redevelopment, Grocon’s Pixel building and Burbank Group’s Denton Mills residential project were some of the winners at the Australian Property Institute Victorian Division’s prestigious Excellence In Property Awards.
The API EIPA Awards held at ANZ Pavillion last Friday night also included Tasmania as a separate category.
Victorian President Steve Simpson said since the inception of the Excellence In Property Awards in 2001, the EIPA Awards have established a strong and reputable standing within the Victorian property industry based on “property excellence” and this year is no exception.
“The quality of the entries from Victoria and Tasmania this year is outstanding and confirms in my mind that in Victoria and Tasmania, we continue to produce projects that are the equal of anywhere in the world,” he added.

In the API Tasmania division, the CHARTER KECK CRAMER – PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT AWARD was won by Heffernan Button Voss Architects for Transend Networks Administration 2 Building.
The INVESTA – ENVIRONMENTAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD was awarded to Morrison and Breytenbach Architects for Tarremah Hall.
The PROPERTY REVIEW AUSTRALIA – HERITAGE PROPERTY AWARD was won by Stuart Tanner Architects for the Goulburn Street Primary project.
In the Victorian division, the winner of the CHARTER KECK CRAMER – PROPERTY DEVELEOPMENT AWARD was Colonial First State Global Asset Management for Myer Melbourne redevelopment.
The INVESTA ENVIRONMENTAL- DEVELOPMENT AWARD was snapped up by Design Inc for Gippsland Water Factory Vortex Centre.
The City of Melbourne won the HOLDING REDLICH – PROPERTY INDUSTRY AWARD for its Transforming Australian Cities project. There was a commendation awarded to Housing Choices Australia.
The LAND VICTORIA – LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROPERTY AWARD was won by the City of Casey for the Casey Fields project whilst the Wellington Shire Council received a commendation for Gippsland Regional Sports Complex.
Meanwhile the PROPERTY REVIEW AUSTRALIA – HERITAGE PROPERTY AWARD was won by Burbank Group for the Denton Mills residential project.
The OPTEON PROPERTY GROUP YOUNG ACHIEVER OF THE YEAR was won by James Santi from the Gibb Group and commendation was given to Joanna Baldwin from the Opteon Property Group and Chris O’Brien from CB Richard Ellis.
And the ERNST AND YOUNG – JOE CURLEWIS PROPERTY TRUST INDUSTRY AWARD was won by Austock Property Funds Management for the Australian Education Trust.
Finally the API Victorian PRESIDENT’S AWARD was won by Grocon’s carbon neutral Pixel building.
