THE Australian Property Institute has appointed Phil Western as the new president.
Western is the current NSW Valuer General and a passionate member of the Australian Property Institute. He is also an active member of the API National Council and immediate past chair of the API National Finance Board.
Outgoing API president Nick McDonald Crowley said the API was fortunate to have such a talented resource as the incoming Western.
“With Phil’s expertise, the API is set to continue its path of reform and change over the next 12 months and beyond to meet the needs of the members of the association,” he added.
Other changes at National Council include Chris Plant is senior vice president; Tony Gorman is junior vice president; Nick McDonald Crowley is the immediate past president; Clyde Eastaugh has retired from the National Council.
API national director Grant Warner said the API was privileged to have some of the property industry’s best professional assets at National Council.
“Good things will come from the API in 2011, it’s certainly an exciting time for the Institute,” Warner said.
McDonald Crowley said the retirement of one of the institute’s longest serving API members and National Councillor, Clyde Eastaugh, was a sad occasion.
“The 50 years of service Eastaugh has contributed to the API has helped develop the API into what it is today,” he added.
McDonald Crowley presented Eastaugh with a Meritorious Service Award for his long and valuable contribution to the Institute.
