COLLIERS International has appointed Doug Henry as the new national director of corporate solutions.
Colliers Australia CEO John Kenny said Henry will lead an existing 120-strong team across Australia, which manages more than 10,000 sites.
Henry will assume the role in July, has previously spent 15 years with Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was an international director and most recently managing director of client services.
Henry is returning to Colliers after being one of the early directors of the business in the 1980s.
Henry said corporates occupy billions of dollars in real estate and are, effectively, the other half of the Institutional property market. Unlike Institutions however, real estate is not their core business.
“Corporations often require more than one type of accommodation meaning the negotiation deal takes on increased importance as they venture into unexplored or unfamiliar territory.
“It’s common for them to occupy a mixture of offices, industrial facilities, retail space or, at times, residential property. Their portfolios are commonly geographically diverse and range in scale from mission critical to support,” he concluded.
