THE Western Australia Government has awarded Peet Limited the job to project manage the Golden Bay development.
Housing Minister Troy Buswell said there is strong demand for affordable housing in Western Australia and the main focus for this project is to get the maximum number of lots to market as quickly as possible.
“There will be 1,750 lots in total available at the Golden Bay site, which is in close proximity to Rockingham and Mandurah. The lots in stage one will range in size from cottage lots of 225 sqm to bigger blocks up to 900 sqm, and I expect these to be on sale from April,” he added.
Buswell said many of the lots will be priced within the reach of first homebuyers and low to middle income earners, allowing for more affordable housing options in the Peel region.
The development will include a site for a primary school, a new park and improved landscaping near Rhonda Scarrott Oval.
