Stanhope said the Englobo Group’s philosophy of making its projects as sustainable as possible indicates the future of development in Canberra and is to be applauded.
“One of the company’s main projects is at Kingston Foreshore. Its residences are designed to be energy efficient through the use of sustainable building materials and practices during construction, solar power and facilities for electric vehicles.
“In addition, it is dedicating a large part of the development to the creation of a waterfront parkland that can be shared by all Canberrans, not just the residents of their new development,” he added.
Stanhope said the ACT Government is leading the change to a more energy efficient, environmentally friendly future through initiatives such as greenhouse gas reduction targets, the Feed-in Tariff, better public transport and increasing the requirement for sustainability in new developments.
“Having the support of companies such as the Englobo Group as we build a more sustainable Canberra is welcome and I would encourage other developers to do likewise,” he concluded.
