BOVIS Lend Lease has started construction on the fruit and vegetable building at the new Melbourne Wholesale Market.
When complete, the main fruit and vegetable building will cover approximately 11 hectares of the huge 80 hectare site.
Bovis Lend Lease is responsible for the design and construction. The new $300 million project involves the relocation of the existing Melbourne Wholesale Market from West Melbourne to the new facility at Epping in Melbourne’s North. When complete in 2012, up to 4,000 businesses will use the markets, supplying thousands of restaurants, supermarkets and local grocers throughout the state.
