MIRVAC Hotels & Resorts has scored the job to manage Sydney’s heritage retreat property, Q Station.
Q Station operators, the Mawland Group, said Mirvac would take on the management of the property’s accommodation, food and beverage, conferencing and tour operations.
Mawland Quarantine Station Pty Ltd and Mawland Group Director Max Player remain as the leaseholders of the property, set within 36 hectares of the Sydney Harbour National Park at North Head near Manly and listed on the National Estate.
The waterfront Q Station occupies the site of Australia’s first and longest-running quarantine station, dating back to 1829.
Carefully restored and sympathetically adapted at a cost of more than $18 million, Q Station now offers 73 guestrooms and six cottages as well as a restaurant, conference facilities catering to more than 100,000 visitors a year.
