Hansen Yuncken finishes first Costco store

CONSTRUCTION company Hansen Yuncken has finished construction of Australia's first Costco store in Melbourne.

Hansen Yuncken CEO Peter Kennedy said this is the fifth significant project Hansen Yuncken has delivered at Docklands – it is also currently constructing the National Ice Sports Centre adjacent to the Costco development, due for completion early 2010.

The $30 million large-format retail store opened yesterday. Costco’s 14,000 sqm retail development has been a very fast track construction project. It includes a café and tyre centre as well as a 600-car undercover car park.
