QUEENSLAND property fund manager Opus Capital Group has renewed its board.
The company has appointed Rod Samut as the new chairman. He has been an adviser to Opus since 2007, has more than 30 years’ experience in commercial and industrial property markets. He is chairman of property fund manager NHLS & Co and is also chairman of Trade Coast Central, the developer of the former Brisbane Airport land at Eagle Farm in Brisbane.
Co-founder and current chairman Tony Moody said the appointment is part of a plan to complete the next stage of corporatising the business by introducing an independent chairman, and is in accordance with the Opus commitment to best practice corporate governance principles.
Moody and fellow founder Steven Goakes will continue on the board as directors along with independent director Bill de Steiger.
“We have a clear vision for the future of Opus Capital and the new board structure reinforces our view. A relentless focus on investor interests has and will continue to be a key to our success,” he added.
