DTZ has continued to expand its Perth based building consultancy team with the appointment of a new senior project manager.
Kerryn Briody has joined the team after returning to Perth last year. She was previously based in Sydney where she worked on major projects such as the New South Wales Police Service at Parramatta and heritage works at the NSW State Library and Westpac.
She also worked at Aussie Home Loans as their property and facilities manager and prior to joining DTZ.
DTZ’s head building consultancy for Western Australia Catherine Fenwick said Kerryn’s current focus is the project management of the 7,100 sqm fit-out for Apache Energy Ltd, who are relocating from 256 St Georges Terrace to four floors within 100 St Georges Terrace.
DTZ WA joint managing director Brad Carey said Perth’s low vacancy rate combined with the ongoing impact of the global financial crisis would continue to create opportunities for innovative building consultancy solutions.
“As a result of increased rents and costs, and with businesses conscious of cost savings, more tenants are looking at ways to make better use of their space and we are starting to see an increasing amount of subleasing emerge,” Carey said. “This trend will help soften rents in the medium term due to the increase in real vacancy rates, which will occur earlier than previously expected,”
“With the return of incentives in the not-too-distant future, we predict that an increase in the volume of corporate fit out and relocation work on lease expiries is inevitable,” he added.
In addition to the major fit-out for Apache, DTZ in Perth has recently been appointed to project manage the 5,000 sqm fit-out and relocation of Kellogg Brown and Root, which is also moving from 256 St Georges Terrace into 100 St Georges Terrace.
