New principal appointed to HBO+EMTB

ARCHITECT firm HBO+EMTB has appointed a new design principal for its Asia operations, comprising 10 offices in China, India, Singapore, The Philippines and Thailand.

Chit-tin Montatupalin has been appointed to the position of Design Principal, Asia. The London based industry publication Building Design has rated HBO+EMTB the fourth largest design firm in Asia, and the world’s 36th largest architectural practice.

HBO+EMTB managing director Kevin Fitzgerald said Chit-tin is a Thai national and one of the genuine stars of design in Asia.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome him to the firm as the head designer for our extensive Asian operations which span 8 countries and 13 offices including our associates in Seoul, Tokyo and Taipei.

“In Asia he is probably best known in Singapore, where he has completed many large high profile projects and beyond Asia in Chicago, where he has completed a large body of work.

“Chit-tin will oversee major architecture and interior design projects from a base in our Hong Kong studio, although he will travel regularly throughout our Asian network,” he added.

Chit-tin’s portfolio features award-winning workplace design for Keppel Energy’s Singapore offices, and the innovative media company, OMD also in Singapore. Additional key projects include work for Chevron & Royal Bank of Scotland in New Delhi, and China Light & Power in Hong Kong.

One of the first design projects he will direct For HBO+EMTB is AXA Rosenberg’s Hong Kong tenancy.
