Centro's strategy man makes quick exit

CENTRO Properties Group's head of strategic planning, Ross Johnston has resigned after taking the job only three months ago.

Johnston will step down as head of strategy implementation on October 31.

Centro did not give a reason behind Johnston’s decision.

But the group said during his tenure, he played a key part in several initiatives including institutional strengthening, cost optimisation and a detailed review of Centro’s policies and procedures.

Centro added that his initiatives will continue under the direction of senior Centro staff.

Johnston was appointed in June this year under the helm of chief executive Glenn Rufrano.

Prior to joining Centro, he was the chief executive of Spotless Australian Services, a facility services company. He has also been a senior executive with Lend Lease for over 15 years.
