BUILDING activity has fallen by 1% in the three months to March quarter, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
According to the ABS, the value of total building work done fell to $16.48 billion.
The value of new residential work done fell 0.3%, to $8.19 billion. Work done on new houses was flat at $5.81 billion, whilst new other residential building fell 1.0% to $2.37 billion.
Alterations and additions fell 1.1%, to $1,577.5m.
The value of non-residential building fell 1.9% to $6.71 billion.
