Tasmania's first homemaker centre opens

HARVEY Norman and Prudentia Investments have opened the new Harvey Norman Centre at Cambridge Park in Tasmania, the state's first integrated homemaker centre.

The $70 million Cambridge Park development has opened with a Harvey Norman and K & D Hardware store already trading.

McKenzie Hall, the bulky goods specialists, is managing the leasing and marketing campaign for the centre. The current signed lease commitments and terms agreed see the centre as 86% leased.

As well as 39,000 sqm of bulky goods retail space, the new homemaker centre will also feature parking for 950 vehicles and some retail food outlets.

The $34 million Harvey Norman Centre was constructed by local Tasmanian building company Hazell Bros Group.

As well as the Harvey Norman Centre, Cambridge Park is also home to a 7500 sqm purpose-built ‘eco’ office building that has been leased by Hydro Tasmania Consulting.

The Hydro Tasmania Consulting building will be completed by the end of March and will accommodate around 350 staff.
