THE New South Wales Government has been appointed as the preferred proponent to develop a waterfront site adjacent to Port Marina in Port Macquarie.
NSW Minister for Lands Tony Kelly has invited local MP’s Mark Vaile, Rob Oakeshott and community representatives to join a committee to oversee the planning and advisory of the site.
Kelly said one of the first things the committee will tackle is reviewing concepts for the redevelopment of the Plaza car park and Kooloonbung Creek foreshore in the Port CBD.
“The NSW Government Architect has already been engaged to prepare these concepts, which will be available for public consultation in the first half of this year.
Meanwhile, Kelly said Ariadne was chosen because its concept will see millions of dollars of marine infrastructure constructed, including a new four lane boat ramp, extra boat and trailer parks, public wharf facilities and dry stack storage.
