ACT chief minister Jon Stanhope has announced the appointment of John Robertson as the new chief executive of the Land Development Agency.
Robertson has been acting as chief executive of the LDA since August this year.
Prior to that, he was previously an executive director of ACT Procurement Solutions, within the ACT Department of Treasury. In that role he was responsible for the reform of ACT Government procurement arrangements and the delivery of a large number of capital works projects, including the construction of the Amaroo School, the ACT Prison Project, the Gungahlin Drive Extension and the upgrade of the Convention Centre.
Robertson has played a leading role within the ACT Government during the establishment of the ActewAGL joint venture arrangements and chaired the ACT Government’s 2002 Review of Business Regulation.
Before taking up his position at the LDA, he represented the ACT on the Australian Procurement and Construction Council Leadership Group.
Stanhope said Robertson was very well regarded in the ACT Public Service and the local building and construction industry and had worked closely with industry groups to make it easier for the private sector to do business with the ACT Government.
