BROOKFIELD has received approval from the New Zealand Overseas Investment Office to takeover Multiplex.
The consent means Brookfield has fulfilled one of the conditions of the bidder’s statement.
Meanwhile, Brookfield has made a second extension to the expiry date of its $4.23 billion Multiplex bid – from September 28 to October 31.
It was originally due to expire on August 30.
Brookfield said as at September 14, it held 49.15% of Multiplex securities, including 32.92% in relevant interests and 16.23% held under institutional acceptance facility.
And Brookfield had only 40.74% of voting power.
