VICTORIAN quantity surveyors are most optimistic, expecting their workloads to increase over the next six months, according to the Westpac/AIQS Brix Building Survey.
According to the survey, 71% of Victorian respondents expect their workloads to increase.

Overall, a net balance of 57% of respondents expect workloads to continue rising in the September 2007 quarter and 74% in the December 2007 quarter.
In addition, building costs are still rising, with QSs reporting growth of 7.0% in the year to June 2007, slightly above the 6% forecast from a year ago. The rate of cost growth reported by respondents for the year to June 2007 accelerated to its highest level since the second quarter of 2005.
QSs expect future building costs to continue rising at around 6.5% over the year to June 2008. Of the major states, NSW is expecting the slowest rate of growth at 3.7% and
