Fresh faces at DTZ management

DTZ has appointed Colin West as the new managing director in New Zealand and in Australia, the agency has appointed new directors.

West’s appointment follows the decision of DTZ’s current NZ managing director Ross Pickett to retire in early 2008.

West will initially assume the role of deputy managing director from the end of August, before taking up the position following Pickett’s departure.

West has more than 25 years experience in the property industry and has been vice president for Global Real Estate – American Express International, where he was responsible for managing the corporate real estate team for Japan, Asia Pacific and the Subcontinent.

DTZ’s Australian and NZ chief executive Chris Johnson said West’s credentials and real estate track record made him an ideal fit for the role.

“His role will be to expand the services already offered by DTZ to our New Zealand clients and to increase the level of cross-border activity with Australia, and throughout Asia-Pacific,” he added.

In Australia, DTZ has also recently added new director to its operations.

In Sydney, Paul Kennedy has been appointed director of building consultancy. He has over 13 years experience and prior to joining DTZ, he was the state manager in New South Wales for Smith Madden Group.

Tim Stephens has been appointed director of sales and investments. Stephens was previously a director at Ray White Commercial and has 15 years experience in the Sydney market.

In the area of research and valuation, David Green-Morgan has assumed the role of director of national research and Anthony Mylott is the new director of valuation services.

In Melbourne, Chas Davis-Flaherty has been appointed director of property management.

Finally in DTZ’s new Brisbane office, David Prosser has been promoted to director of office leasing.

Earlier this month, DTZ expanded its Australian and New Zealand operations through the acquisition of Sydney-based specialist commercial and industrial business Harlow Property Consultants for an initial payment of $1 million and further payments of up to $1.5 million.
