Batchelor takes JLL Hotels top job

JONES Lang LaSalle Hotels has announced eight promotions throughout Asia Pacific.

In Australia and New Zealand, Mike Batchelor has been promoted to managing director of Investment Sales.

Promoted to executive vice president, Mark Durran will now lead the firm’s hotel investment sales teams in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.

Meanwhile in Singapore, Craig Collins has been promoted to managing director of investment sales – Asia. Currently, Collins oversees the marketing of several major hotel investment opportunities in Phuket, Bangkok, Bali, Jakarta, Macau, China, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Also based in Singapore and an integral member of the advisory practice in Asia, Michelle Hui was promoted to vice president, advisory.

Further north in Japan, Tomohiko Sawayanagi, who leads the firm in Japan, has been promoted to managing director of Japan and Hans Galland, who is a pioneer of the hotels team in China, was promoted to vice president of the firm’s China business.

JLL Hotels’ chief executive of Asia Pacific David Gibson said demand for quality hotel investment advice has been strong and the Firm expects total sales volume for the Asia Pacific region to hit $US8 billion during 2007.

“Providing innovative forward thinking advice to our clients on a diverse range of hotel property related matters in this growing region is paramount and the promotions are in tandem with the growth we are experiencing.

“Our clients are becoming increasingly sophisticated about hotel investments and we are challenged every day to exceed their expectations,” he added.
