Charter Hall has awarded the refurbishment of the 22-level Northbank tower to Watpac.
Watpac has also been contracted for a second Charter Hall project in the Brisbane CBD – 275 George Street which will be a 32-level, A-grade commercial office tower to complement Northbank Plaza.
Watpac’s managing director Greg Kempton said in addition to award of the Northbank Plaza and 275 George Street Projects, Watpac is also undertaking a commercial office development for Charter Hall at the Sydney Olympic Park – a project with an end value of approximately $100 million.
Kempton said the total refurbishment and construction value of the two projects fell in the vicinity of $230 million.
Located prominently on the corner of George Street, Ann Street and Adelaide Street in the CBD, 275 George Street recently signed Telstra as its major tenant.
Both Northbank Plaza and 275 George Street are due for completion in mid-2008.
