Accor Premiere Vacation Club has bought the apartments within the Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort complex at Lake Wanaka on New Zealand’s South Island.
APVC Members will have access to 15 fully self-contained one and two-bedroom apartments at the property.
The agreement valued in excess of $5 million with Northern Link Developments will see the club release existing apartments to its members immediately, and further construction of apartments carried out in the Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort’s next phase of development upon approval of architectural plans.
APVC’s chief executive Martin Kandel said Wanaka complements the company’s existing properties in nearby Queenstown and the recently purchased APVC Puka Park Resort, Grand Mercure on the Coromandel Peninsula.
“Perfect for couples or families, APVC’s 16,500 Members and their families now have three quality destinations in New Zealand to choose from, in addition to the 14 properties they already enjoy across Australia,” he added.
Situated on 1.5 hectare of land, the Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort is the closest resort to Cardrona ski field and at the base of New Zealand’s foremost ski field, Treble Cone.
The resort is two minutes drive from the Wanaka town centre and a 30 minute flight from Christchurch, and 90 minute flight from Auckland.
The Wanaka region is home to four international ski areas, the island-dotted Lake Wanaka, and is also the gateway to the Mount Aspiring National Park. It is a four season favourite destination for New Zealanders and for international visitors.
