Hewlett- Packard has appointed Bovis Lend Lease to design and build the company’s new $40 million Victorian headquarters.
The project will consolidate most of Hewlett-Packard’s Melbourne operations into a single location in the city’s southeastern suburbs.
The planned building will have an NLA of more than 10,000 sqm and will consist of three levels of office space with large floor plates and a combination of basement and on-grade car parking.
The new, all-purpose facility will be located on a five-hectare site at Forest Hill.
Bovis Lend Lease’s general manager Geoff Moore said Hewlett-Packard is a long term client.
“Our proven track record and workplace design capabilities ensured we could continue what has been a successful working relationship,” he added.
Moore said the building would have a green rating but the level of environmentally sustainable design had not yet been finalised.
"It will be a highly flexible workplace to accommodate the portability of their workforce,” he added.
The project will consolidate several sites with construction to begin in November. The project is due for completion in 2008.
Bovis Lend Lease has also been appointed to build more than 20,000 sqm of new retail space as part of the $200 million Greensborough town centre rejuvenation project.
The Greensborough revitalisation project is expected to start late next year, with completion expected in 2009.
In New South Wales, Bovis Lend Lease has been appointed to design and construct Area Health Management’s $25 million headquarters at Wollongong.
A development application for the commercial building submitted to Wollongong City Council was approved early this month.
The eight-storey building will consist of six levels of office space, two levels of car parking plus a roof entertaining terrace.
When complete the 7,200 sqm CBD building will house up to 450 staff.
