Macquarie Real Estate has appointed two experienced property investment specialists to the product distribution team.
The appointments come as Macquarie’s suite of listed and unlisted property vehicles report strong returns for the full financial year.
Yesterday, Macquarie Real Estate announced the appointment of Sally Humphris and John Nicoll in Melbourne as regional business managers.
Humphris and Nicoll have responsibility for the sales and marketing of Macquarie’s two unlisted property funds: the Macquarie Direct Property Fund and the Macquarie Property Income Fund; along with the Macquarie Property Access – a loan facility that allows investors to borrow up to 60% of the funds required to invest in a portfolio of property investments.
Humphris and Nicoll will service advisors across Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia, and report to Victor.
Macquarie Real Estate’s division director Christopher Andrews said the appointments reflected the growing interest in a “new breed” of innovative property vehicles that were flexible for advisors to use, and suited a broad array of retail investors and SMSF portfolios.
Nicoll joins Macquarie from Property Investment Research, where he acted as head of client services since 2004. Nicoll has considerable industry knowledge and contacts, both with funds managers and financial advisers. In his role at PIR, Nicoll was responsible for the sales and marketing strategy, project management of annual research reports and strategic advice. He holds a degree in property investment and development and possesses an impressive work history focused on sales and marketing.
Humphris joins Macquarie with extensive property investment management experience gained at Centro Properties Group, MAB Corporation Ltd, Property Investment Research and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. Humphris has strong existing relationships with financial advisors in Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia, after servicing these markets for a number of years in her previous roles. Humphris holds a Bachelors in Economics.
