Simon Barlow, the president of Hilton International in United States has been appointed the new managing director of the Grand Hotel Group.
For the past 18 months, Barlow has being responsible for all of Hilton International’s hotels in the Americas, with a focus on developing new hotels in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Before that, Barlow was the vice president in South East Asia and vice president Asia for Hilton International based in Singapore, before being promoted to one of five Area Presidents in the Company globally.
Between 1991-1995, Barlow was general manager of the Novotel Hotel in Melbourne and was later appointed general manager of business hotels in Australia for Accor.
GHG chairman Bill Conn said both the Board and management team look forward to working closely with Barlow in the exciting months ahead for the group.
“GHG looks forward to the extensive hospitality and hotel knowledge Barlow will bring to the Group. His domestic and global experience in the hotel industry is invaluable,” he added.
